The situation
A reader can't tell two things: where this information came from, and whether anyone verified it. On the publishing side the problem is different — collection, verification, clustering, moderation and publishing are spread across separate tools, and the record of who changed what gets lost.
What we built
For readers, source and verification status are as visible as the story itself. For the newsroom there's Studio: source and feed management, verification, story clustering, media, comment moderation, advertising and personalisation in one panel. Everyone sees only the work that belongs to them, and the record of who changed what, and when, is kept.
Approach
The interface sits on a single design system that carries five themes beyond the default: night, newspaper, minimal, high contrast and reading mode. The themes aren't cosmetic — reading mode changes measure and type scale, and the high-contrast theme exists for accessibility. All of them draw from the same design tokens, so a new page works in every theme the day it's added, with no separate design work. That's where the real saving in a website project sits — not in the first delivery, but in everything you add afterwards being cheap and quick.
